Intimidators Take 3-0 Lead with 9-1 Win
|
The Kannapolis Intimidators are one game away from a sweep after downing the visiting Hagerstown Suns at CMC-NorthEast Stadium, 9-1. Intimidators designated hitter Davy Fonseca was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 3 and driving in 3. Kannapolis now holds a 3-0 advantage in the best-of-7 Regional Championship Series.
Trevor Pena was a prime contributor to the Kannapolis win. He was 2-4 with 2 doubles, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the fifth with no one out, the 24-year old second baseman hit a run-scoring double. It made the score 2-1, in favor of the Intimidators.
"As soon as the season ends, I'm walking out of the clubhouse and leaving on vacation," Fonseca said. "Can't wait."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at CMC-NorthEast Stadium in Kannapolis.
