Triplets Move on to Regional Championship Series
|
The Evansville Triplets are heading to the Regional Championship Series, having narrowly defeated the Inland Empire 66ers.
Evansville edged Inland Empire in the series 4-3, with a win at BB&T Stadium in the clinching game by a 8-1 margin.
Haines Wilson Jr. turned in a strong offensive performance for the Triplets and got series MVP for his efforts.
"I'll never turn down another trophy for my mantle, another accomplishment to remember once my career is over," he said. "What I would really remember, though, is a AAA Championship Series win."
It remains to be seen how the playoffs will conclude, but if Wilson Jr. continues to swing a hot bat, his team will no doubt have a chance.
For the series, he hit .480 with a .480 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, 6 RBI and scored 4 runs.
The Regional Championship Series matchups and schedule will be announced after the Divisional Series finishes.
