Buffington, Falcons Wallop Pirates in Game 1 of WCS
The Fresno Falcons started the Wild Card Series in style, downing the visiting Pittsburgh Pirates at Savemart Center by a score of 7-1 to grab an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Falcons designated hitter Patton Buffington was 2-2 with a home run and a triple, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once.

Buffington had an important at-bat with the bases loaded in the bottom of the sixth, when he hit a grand slam home run. The Falcons went on to win.

"I'm just looking to see the ball, hit the ball," said Buffington.
