Twice as Nice: Inland Empire Extends Lead to 2-0 With Walk-off Win
|
Behind the big bat of designated hitter Joe Kaye, the Inland Empire 66ers have opened up a healthy early lead in the Divisional Series. The 66ers topped the Tacoma Rainiers, 5-4, at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark in Game 2, and now hold a 2-0 edge in the best-of-7 series. Kaye was 3 for 4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times to power Inland Empire to victory.
Jaxon Snell was the walk-off hero for Inland Empire. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the 66ers right fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"We ground out the win," said Snell. "That's all that matters."
The next game is set to be played for Thursday, October 8th , 2065 at Cheney Stadium in Tacoma.
