When the games really matter, the Chattanooga Scouts put on their best show, beating the Alexandria Aces by a final score of 9-8. Jordan Sablan went 3-5 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Chattanooga now leads Alexandria 1-0 in the best-of-7 affair.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 11th inning, when Chattanooga shortstop Jordyn Fichtner, facing Silviano Díaz, had a run-scoring ground out. It gave the Scouts the 9-8 win.

"We've got a great group of guys," Fichtner said, "and we're having fun right now."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at AT&T Field in Chattanooga.
