Road Win Lifts Harlan to 2-1 Lead in WCS
|
Despite a great performance by Pulaski starter Jacoby Young, the Harlan Smokies defeated the Yankees by the score of 6-5 at Calfee Park today. Young threw 5.0 innings allowing 1 runs, but he couldn't prevent the Smokies from moving one game closer to the Divisional Series. Harlan now leads the Wild Card Series 2-1.
With no one out in the top of the eighth, Jacob Cook lit into a fastball from Feliz Santamaria for a 3-run home run. That made the score 6-3 in favor of the Smokies. For the day, Cook went 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.
"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Harlan manager Carson Lee.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Calfee Park in Pulaski.
