The Medford Flying Tigers got a strong performance from pitcher Loyd Middleton, who stymied the Salem-Keizer offense en route to a 4-1 win in Game 2 of the Wild Card Series. The Volcanoes could never get a bead on the left-handed Middleton, who threw 6.0 innings of 5-hit ball. The Flying Tigers now hold a 2-0 advantage in the best-of-7 series.

Joseph Baratta's at-bat in the bottom of the third inning was a big one for Medford. Coming to bat with one out, runners on 1st and 2nd and Medford trailing 1-0, the first baseman hit a run-scoring single.

"I put my work in and trusted the process," said Middleton.

Game 3 is scheduled for Wednesday at Volcanoes Stadium in Keizer.
