Stompers Win Again, Extend Series Lead to 3-1
The rookie looked like he belonged out there.

The Sonoma Stompers sent 25-year-old right-hander Neal Darling to the mound for a high-pressure playoff start and he repaid their confidence, quieting the San Bernardino Stampede on a day where the Stompers struggled to produce runs of their own. In the end, Sonoma cobbled together enough to take the 2-1 decision. The win gave Sonoma a 3-1 lead in the best-of-7 Wild Card Series.

With scoring opportunities rare, the Stompers had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the third, when first baseman Hunter Luck hit a 2-run home run. The home run came off Eric Mills and made the score 2-0, Stompers. Luck was 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.

Sonoma manager Lorenzo Velarde commended his team for exhibiting "no shortage of effort."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Bright House Field in Sonoma.
