Wild Card Series Goes the Distance, Batavia Prevails
|
The Batavia Muckdogs were paced by a strong offensive output from Vince Tribble as they downed the Youngstown Gremlins 4-3 to win the Wild Card Series.
Batavia won the final game by a score of 8-6 at Dwyer Stadium to send themselves off to the Divisional Series.
"I wasn't so much focused on putting up big offensive numbers as I was about ensuring we won the games. So it's mission accomplished there," said center fielder Tribble, who was named MVP.
For the series, the MVP hit .414 with a .452 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 2 RBI and scored 6 runs.
The Divisional Series matchups and schedule will be announced after the Wild Card Series finishes.
