Curve Even With Pilots After Home Win
|
The Altoona Curve knotted up the Wild Card Series at People's Natural Gas Field, thanks in large part to second baseman Benz Woodruff. Woodruff went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once as he overpowered the Wichita Pilots, enabling Altoona to grab the 3-2 win and move into a 1-1 tie in the best-of-7 series.
Woodruff had an important at-bat with a runner on 1st in the bottom of the seventh, when he hit a 2-run home run. The Curve went on to win.
"We lost," Wichita manager Ryan Coleman said later. "We'll deal with it. The series isn't over."
The next game is set to be played for Monday, September 20th , 2060 at Regions Field in Wichita.
