With starter Jaxon Kilgore leading the charge, the State College Spikes defeated the Vermont Lake Monsters, 3-1, in Game 2 of the Wild Card Series. The right-hander threw 7.1 innings of 5-hit ball at Centennial Field to help State College take a 2-0 lead in the best-of-7 series.

Micah Moyer had a direct impact on the outcome. Moyer contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put State College up, 3-1.

"I felt good. I felt like I was locating the ball well and I was able to keep them off-balance," said Kilgore.

Game 3 is scheduled for Wednesday at Bowman Field in Williamsport.
