Yard Goats Take 1-0 Lead with 6-3 Win
New Haven Ravens manager Mark Ennis took a gamble on 21-year-old starter Drew Holliman. It paid off, but, unfortunately for the Ravens, little else did.

Despite getting a poised performance from the young right-hander, the Ravens lost, 6-3, to the Hartford Yard Goats at The Ballpark at Jackson. With the win, Hartford took a 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 Wild Card Series.

Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Jordyn Fichtner? The 26-year old second baseman Fichtner stroked a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to put Hartford up, 5-3. For the game, he was 2 for 5, including 1 double and 1 single.

"It's nice to come out on top today," said Fichtner.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at The Ballpark at Jackson in New Haven.
