Hilts, Engineers Take Dramatic Game 2 for 2-0 Series Lead
Behind the big arm of right-hander Lincoln Hilts, the Shreveport Engineers have opened up a healthy early lead in the Wild Card Series. The Engineers topped the Frisco RoughRiders, 1-0, at Engineers Ballpark in Game 2, and now hold a 2-0 edge in the best-of-7 series. Hilts threw 8.0 innings of shutout ball to power Shreveport to victory.

Batting in the bottom of the tenth, 26-year old third baseman Dylan Lum had a real shot to win the game. Frisco pitcher Lariel Rivas was determined not to let it happen. But with no outs, Lum hit a run-scoring single. The Engineers had a walk-off triumph.

Shreveport manager Kip Fors called it "a good, solid win."

Game 3 is scheduled for Monday at Dr. Pepper Ballpark in Frisco.
