Closing In: Gateway Nears DS With Dramatic Game 5 Win

When the games really matter, the Gateway Grizzlies put on their best show, beating the Binghamton Rumble Ponies by a final score of 6-5. Jeremiah Hardester went 2-4 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Gateway now leads Binghamton 3-2 in the best-of-7 affair.
Yoquel Montes was the walk-off hero for Gateway. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Grizzlies center fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"It was a solid team effort," said Montes after the game.
The next game is set to be played for Friday, September 24th , 2066 at NYSEG Stadium in Binghamton.
