Late Rally by Aztecs Locks Up 6-3 Win
|
The Chihuahua Aztecs took Campeche pitcher Oldemar Braud's best shot and still were able to claim a win at The Circus Tent. The final score had Chihuahua getting past the Clowns, 6-3. Braud went 7.1 innings and allowed 1 run, striking out 5. Cal Stuart recorded his 16th save for Chihuahua. The second-place Aztecs have won 4 straight.
Chihuahua used the clutch hitting of Caton Tamez to capture the win. The designated hitter drilled a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to give the Aztecs the lead, 4-3. For the game, Tamez had 1 single and 1 double in 5 at-bats.
"Good baseball players make you a smarter manager," said Chihuahua manager Martin Ortega.
