Pilots Dominate, Sweep Divisional Series
Many baseball pundits expected a close series in the Eastern League Divisional Series. It turned out quite a bit different.


The Wichita Pilots swept aside the Altoona Curve to advance to the Regional Championship Series, winning the final game by a 3-0 score at People's Natural Gas Field.

The series MVP was right fielder Filomeno Figueroa, who hit .421 with a .450 on-base percentage. He had 0 home runs, drove in 0 RBI and scored 4 runs.

"We expected this series to go right down to the wire, so to sweep is a bit of a surprise," he said. "But we'll take it."

The Regional Championship Series matchups and schedule will be announced after the Divisional Series finishes.
