Kannapolis Wins Again, 3-2
The bats were silent for much of the day at CMC-NorthEast Stadium today. But Kannapolis shortstop Lawrence DeStefano conjured up just enough offense to carry the Intimidators past the Hickory Crawdads, 3-2. In a game dominated by the pitching staffs, DeStefano was 2 for 2 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. The Intimidators now lead 2-0 in the best-of-7 series.

Bruno Lebron drew 2 walk for Kannapolis. In a tie game with two out in the bottom of the eighth, Lebron came through with a run-scoring walk. It put the Intimidators in front, 3-2.

"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Kannapolis manager Wally Franklin said.

Game 3 is scheduled for Monday at L.P. Frans Stadium in Hickory.
