Crawdads Heading to Divisional Series
|
Gotzone Batista put the Hickory Crawdads on his shoulders as they downed the Delmarva Shorebirds in the Wild Card Series.
Hickory won the deciding game by a 3-2 count at L.P. Frans Stadium and wrapped up the series 4-1.
Batista played a key role in the victory, as he was named series MVP for his offensive output, which included a .591 batting average with a .591 on-base percentage, 0 home runs, 2 RBI and 1 runs scored.
"I told myself it was time to step it up and help the team win and I'm glad I was able to do that," he said.
The Divisional Series matchups and schedule will be announced after the Wild Card Series finishes.
