2-1 Cubs Win Evens Series With Baby Cakes
The Iowa Cubs defeated the New Orleans Baby Cakes, 2-1, in Game 2 of the Wild Card Series. Doing his part was starter Kayden Chin, who threw 7.1 innings of shutout ball. The win moves Iowa into a 1-1 tie with New Orleans in the series.

Liam Schmidt, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2057 draft, had a direct impact on the outcome. Schmidt contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put Iowa up, 1-0.

"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Iowa manager Tony Osorio said.

Game 3 is scheduled for Monday at Principal Park in Des Moines.
