Almost There: Batavia On Cusp of RCS Triumph After 3-2 Win
|
The Batavia Muckdogs moved to within one game of the A- Championship Series, downing the visiting West Virginia Black Bears at Dwyer Stadium by a score of 3-2. Muckdogs designated hitter Ricardo Palma did some major damage. He went 2-4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The win gives the Muckdogs a 3-1 advantage in the best-of-7 Regional Championship Series.
Had Palma not come through in the bottom of the seventh, who knows how the game would've ended? But with two down, Palma hit a 2-run double. The Muckdogs took the lead, 3-2, and never looked back.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Palma said after the game.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Dwyer Stadium in Batavia.
