Road Win Lifts Buffalo to 3-0 Lead in WCS
|
The Buffalo Bisons are one game away from a sweep of the Gwinnett Stripers after a road win at Coolray Field, 3-2. Bisons right-hander Skip Schott Jr. had a strong outing. He threw 5.1 innings of shutout ball. Buffalo now holds a 3-0 advantage in the best-of-7 Wild Card Series.
Buffalo used a well-timed hit by Nicholas Parkin to capture the win. The designated hitter socked a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Bisons ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
Parkin called the win a test of his team's "mettle."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Coolray Field in Lawrenceville.
