Iglesias Blasts Rainiers, Sidewinders Take Game 1, 7-5
The Tucson Sidewinders started the Divisional Series in style, winning on the road against the Tacoma Rainiers at Cheney Stadium by a score of 7-5 to take an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Sidewinders designated hitter Santiago Iglesias excelled. He was 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3.

In the top of the sixth, Tucson left fielder Rasheed Morales had a productive at-bat. With a runner on 1st and one out, Morales stroked a run-scoring triple to right-center. It made the score 4-2, Tucson. For the game, he went 1-5 with a triple.

"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Tucson manager Gil Mitchell.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Cheney Stadium in Tacoma.
