1-0 Sod Poodles Win Evens Series With Snappers
The Ames Sod Poodles and the Beloit Snappers will take the Wild Card Series to a decisive 7th game. Facing a must-win situation, the Sod Poodles shut out the Snappers, 1-0, at Harry C. Pohlman Field to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Ames left-hander Chap Shockley did his part. He threw 5.0 innings of shutout ball.

Lucas Erdman went 1 for 4 with a walk for Ames. With no one out and the game tied in the top of the seventh inning, Erdman had a clutch at-bat. Facing Beloit hurler Larry Bowie, he grounded out, driving in 1 run to give the Sod Poodles a 1-0 lead.

"At least it was over quickly," Snappers manager T.J. Saddler said. "We'll just have to try our luck again."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Harry C. Pohlman Field in Beloit.
