Rinaldi, Indians Take Dramatic Game 1 for 1-0 Series Lead
|
The Pueblo Indians started the Divisional Series in dramatic fashion, stealing Game 1 from the Missoula Osprey in a walk-off in the 18th inning. Pueblo took the 3-2 win thanks in large part to a good day from starter Tom Rinaldi. The right-hander threw 5.2 innings allowing 1 run in the win, which gave the Indians a 1-0 lead to start the best-of-7 series.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 18th inning, when Pueblo center fielder Brendan Berg, facing Zachary Malas, had a run-scoring single. It gave the Indians the 3-2 win.
"I put my work in and trusted the process," said Rinaldi.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Indians Ballpark in Pueblo.
