The California Angels beat the Chicago Cubs, 5-3, at Wrigley Field. California center fielder Kyle Wells had an outstanding performance. He was 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Corbin Holmes picked up the win with 7.2 innings of work. He allowed 3 runs on 4 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 6. On the season, he is now 5-1. Curtis Keegan closed it out for his 20th save.

Wells had an important at-bat with runners on 1st and 2nd in the top of the sixth, when he hit a 3-run home run. The Angels went on to win.

"See ball, hit ball. When I think too much, that's when I get in trouble," Wells told the California Daily.

With the win, California goes to 33-32, while the Cubs fall to 31-34.
