The 20-year-old rookie on the mound turned out to be the least of the Medicine Hat Stampede worries.

Giving a high-pressure playoff start to youngster Alex Chandler seemed like a risky move for the Stampede, but it was one of the few things that went right at Ballpark of Medicine Hat. Chandler tossed 6.1 solid innings, but it was all for naught after Medicine Hat dropped a 5-0 decision. With the win, Grand Junction took a 2-0 lead in the best-of-7 Divisional Series.

Leonardo Tolley dealt the Stampede a blow in the top of the sixth. Batting with the bases loaded and Grand Junction leading 1-0, Tolley hit a first pitch fastball for a 2-run single.

"It wasn't a very good day at the ballpark," said Medicine Hat manager Brantley Johnson.

The next game is set to be played for Saturday, September 17th , 2061 at Suplizio Field in Grand Junction.
