Almost There: Tacoma On Cusp of WCS Triumph After 11-1 Win
The Tacoma Rainiers moved to within one game of the Divisional Series, downing the visiting New Orleans Baby Cakes at Cheney Stadium by a score of 11-1. Rainiers right-hander R.J. Torres had a strong outing in which he threw 6.0 innings of shutout ball. The win gives the Rainiers a 3-1 advantage in the best-of-7 Wild Card Series.

Torres allowed no runs over 6 innings. He also racked up 6 strikeouts.

"I felt good. I felt like I was locating the ball well and I was able to keep them off-balance," said Torres.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Cheney Stadium in Tacoma.
