Losing Streak Continues for Hammerheads with 8-1 Loss to Geckos
Another game, another loss for the struggling Cape Coral Hammerheads.

Gilbert pitcher Charles Roehner did his part in helping his team beat the Cape Coral Hammerheads, 8-1. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Matt Hennemann earned the win after being called from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2.2 innings. He upped his record to 1-2.

Gilbert grabbed control in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Barlow Sessoms delivered a 2-run single, to make it 3-1 in favor of the Geckos.

"We're our own worst enemy right now," said Cape Coral skipper Roger Diaz.

At 40-30, the Geckos find themselves in second place in the Arizona Rookie League South Division.
