Oddballs Win, Move to Within 1 Game of Divisional Series
|
The Ottawa Oddballs moved to within one game of the Divisional Series, downing the visiting Scranton Dundies at Ottawa Ballpark by a score of 6-2. Oddballs right-hander Bobby Solano had a strong outing in which he threw 5.2 innings of shutout ball. The win gives the Oddballs a 3-0 advantage in the best-of-7 Wild Card Series.
With two out in the bottom of the fifth, Gavin Coward barreled up a fastball from Sergius Givins. The result was a 2-run home run, putting the Oddballs in front, 4-0.
Said losing manager Johnny Hales: "Obviously, we wished for a better outcome."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Ottawa Ballpark in Ottawa.
