Wiggin Excels, Kingman Wins Wild Card Series Game 1
The Kingman Torts started the Wild Card Series in style, downing the visiting Gilbert Geckos at Torts Ballpark by a score of 5-1 to grab an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series. Torts first baseman Grayson Wiggin was 3-4 with 3 singles.

Sebastian Santiago had a productive at-bat in the bottom of the fourth inning. With runners on 1st and 3rd, the Kingman catcher hit a run-scoring single. It made the score 2-1, Torts, and led to the win.

"The competition leap this year was tough to adjust to and I feel like there has been another jump in the playoffs," said Santiago, a rookie this season. "You're only playing the best now and everyone has time to rest and prepare for you."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Torts Ballpark in Kingman.
