Wild Card Series Goes the Distance, Peoria Prevails
The thrill of victory and the agony of defeat were on full display tonight at Tempe Diablo Stadium as the Wild Card Series stretched to the final game.

It was the Peoria Pride feeling the thrill of victory, with a 8-3 win over the Yuma Gnomes, who were feeling the devastation of coming up short in their quest to make the Divisional Series.

"There's no way around it -- this sucks," said Yuma manager Ryan Guardado. "Congratulations to Peoria, but I won't sugarcoat it, no one is happy about anything that transpired here tonight."

Instrumental in the 3-2 series win was center fielder Dustin Wells, who was named MVP. He hit .500 with a .526 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 6 RBI and scored 3 runs.

"We've got the most important stat of all and that's this final win -- that's the one that matters," he said.

The Divisional Series matchups and schedule will be announced after the Wild Card Series finishes.
