A strong performance from pitcher Ronaldo Castaneda was not enough for the Peoria Pride, who were stopped by the visiting Yuma Gnomes, 6-3, in Game 2 of the Wild Card Series. The Gnomes never truly figured out the right-handed Castaneda, who threw 5.0 innings allowing 3 runs. Still, the Gnomes now hold a 2-0 in the best-of-5 series.

In the bottom of the third, Yuma center fielder Kevin Nicolai had a productive at-bat. With runners on 1st and 2nd and one out, Nicolai stroked a run-scoring single to center. It made the score 2-1, Yuma. For the game, he was 1 for 3 with a walk.

Yuma manager Ryan Guardado praised his team's "energy."
