Portland pitcher Zach Berg did his part in helping his team beat the Cleveland Indians, 3-0. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Vic Mallery picked up the save for Portland, his 15th of the year. Portland now sits at 25-39, while Cleveland falls to 34-30.

Portland designated hitter Lobo Peña contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a cutter into right field for a run-scoring single. It was his 61st hit of the season and put the Hops ahead, 1-0.

"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Peña said after the game.
