Mountaineers Stick Mustangs with 7-0 Loss
|
Erwin and Billings got after it at Dehler Park.
The Erwin Mountaineers beat the Billings Mustangs, 7-0, at Dehler Park. Erwin center fielder Milt Santiago had an outstanding performance. He went 3 for 4 with 3 singles and a walk. The second-place Mountaineers now have a win-loss record of 46-24.
Erwin used the bat of Rich Mays to get the win. The second baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Mountaineers ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Mays.
