Chiefs Take 2-1 Lead with 9-7 Win
Riding the 3-hit performance of catcher Gunner McCarthy, the Syracuse Chiefs stopped the visiting Buffalo Bisons, 9-7, in Game 3 of the Divisional Series. McCarthy went 3-3 with 3 singles and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3 for the Chiefs, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 2 games to 1.

Had Brendan Colopy not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Colopy hit a 2-run double. That made the score 8-7, in favor of the Chiefs.

"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Colopy.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Victory Field in Syracuse.
