The Hialeah Gales beat the Gainesville Hogs, 8-6, at Hammond Stadium. Cristopher Samudio, in particular, was impressive. He went 3 for 4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI. Hialeah center fielder Joel Begay contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the fifth. With two down, he hit a fastball to right field for a 2-run single. It was his 61st hit of the season and put the Gales ahead, 4-2.
