Cyclones Dealt 8-4 Loss by Rogue Valley
|
Quentin Raney helped his team muscle past the Brooklyn Cyclones, 8-4. In the game, the Rogue Valley left fielder went 1-1 with 3 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Samuel Cowan earned the win after being called from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on 3 hits in 2.1 innings. He upped his record to 3-0. The 'W' lifts Rogue Valley's record to 43-27.
The Dodgers took the lead in the bottom of the fifth when Jeremiah Valadez banged a two-out single. Rogue Valley had been trailing 4-3, but Valadez hit a 1-1 fastball from Arnold Soto for a 2-run single.
"It's not about individual awards," Raney told a Rogue Valley Herald reporter after the game. "It's about winning championships. That's what we play for."
