Flamingos Lose By a Run at Daytona Beach
|
The Daytona Beach Hurricanes racked up a win at Osceola County Stadium, bumping off the Fort Myers Flamingos, 4-3. Osmond Forest, who started for Daytona Beach, pitched effectively for his team. José Colón recorded the save, his 2nd. The 7th-place Flamingos now sit at 22-48.
Daytona Beach left fielder Jonas Gallant contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a fastball to left field for a run-scoring single. It was his 47th hit of the season and put the Hurricanes ahead, 2-1.
"Coming in, from the get-go, I knew my stuff was good," said Forest.
