The Daytona Beach Hurricanes downed the Clearwater Threshers, 3-1. The hitting star was third baseman Alfonso Benavides. Benavides went 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Hurricanes. The Hurricanes now own a record of 34-36.

Had Benavides not come through in the bottom of the eighth, who knows how the game would've ended? But with two down, Benavides hit a run-scoring single. The Hurricanes took the lead, 2-1, and never looked back.
