Ghosts Win Nail-Biter
|
The Casper Ghosts faced a tenacious opponent in Lethbridge pitcher Linc Gemmell, but still scratched out a win at Howard Johnson Field by a final score of 4-3 in 10 innings. Gemmell went 7.2 innings and allowed 3 runs. The winner was Mark Householder in relief. His record improves to 7-5. Neddy Johansen took the loss. Their 43-26 record puts the Ghosts first in the Pioneer League South Division.
Casper needed the clutch hitting of Hunter Hicks to seal the deal. The shortstop swatted a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Ghosts on top, 4-3. For the game, Hicks had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
