The Grand Junction Rockies beat the Billings Mustangs, 7-6, with major props going to left fielder Hugo Laribi. On the day, Laribi went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for the Rockies. Orlando Miller picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 3-2. John Felix was tagged with the loss. Brayden Valerian sewed up the save, his 15th.

There was more than one reason the Rockies beat the Mustangs, but Laribi's big at-bat in the top of the third was an important factor. He staked his team to a 1-0 lead when he hit a run-scoring single.

"Not to put too fine a point on it," said Laribi, "but we really needed that win."

With the victory, the Rockies upped their record to 39-29.
