Threshers Win at Home, 6-1

Pierce Kose, who is tied for 5th in the FLA with a 11.1 K/9 rate, was terrific for the Clearwater Threshers in his team's 6-1 triumph over the Fort Lauderdale Pirates. His performance earned Kose rave reviews. Kose picked up the win for Clearwater, going 5.1 innings. He gave up 1 run on 2 hits. He now sports a record of 2-2. The triumph makes Clearwater 22-44.
Ruben Montano had a big 2-run double for the Threshers in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Clearwater leading 2-1 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from Carlton Ebert and swatted a double to right. It was his 8th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Threshers ahead, 4-1.
"The only difference is executing pitches and not executing pitches," said Kose. "When you don't execute, you get beat. When you execute, you usually give your team a chance to win."
