Fort Lauderdale Pirates starter Alexas Freund pitched his team past the West Palm Beach Dolphins, 4-0. Juan Alverado recorded the save, his 9th. Fort Lauderdale now sports a record of 38-27.

The standout performance belonged to 19-year-old Freund. With his baby face, he looked more like someone starting for a high school team than for the Pirates. His performance, however, was nothing short of top-notch. The youngster dominated the Dolphins, striking out 7 and scattering 1 hit over 7.1 innings. Freund is now 6-3 on the season.

"You want to go out there and put up zeroes, that's the main thing," said Freund. "You don't want to get caught in one of those back-and-forth, run-for-run games."
