Braves Suffer One-Run Loss at Colorado
Colorado beat Atlanta on the strength of starting pitcher Benton Hofmeister's fine effort. The left-hander led his team to a win, 4-3. The winner was Hofmeister. He threw 6.2 innings allowing 3 runs. The loser was Jared Iglesias. Colorado now owns a record of 38-25.

The Rockies got a big at-bat from left fielder Randall Gums. For the game, Gums went 2-4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 16th double of the season gave Colorado a 4-3 lead.
