Buccaneers Beat Flamingos in 14
|
In a tight contest at JetBlue Park, the Boca Raton Buccaneers edged the Fort Myers Flamingos by the score of 4-3 in 14 innings. Boca Raton center fielder Philander Riviera, who blasted 2 home runs, was a key contributor. The winner was Boca Raton reliever J.J. Anderson, now 2-0. The loser was Cedro Guadarrama. Boca Raton has now won 3 in a row.
Riviera had a game-changing home run in the top of the 14th. On a first pitch sinker from Cedro Guadarrama, he banged a solo home run to right, giving the Buccaneers a 4-3 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Riviera.
"We were the better team," crowed Riviera.
