The rain could not dampen the enthusiasm of Colorado fans at Coors Field.

The Colorado Rockies defeated the Cincinnati Reds, 8-6, at Coors Field. Colorado designated hitter Randall Gums had a superb performance. He was 3-5 with a home run and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Menudo Echevarria earned the win, while 23-year old right-handed pitcher Sawyer Marinas took the loss for Cincinnati. Vince Graham earned the save for Colorado, his 13th.

Gene Allaire hit a 2-run double off Sawyer Marinas in the bottom of the fourth, which put the Rockies in front, 3-1. In addition to the double, Allaire had 1 single, while going 2 for 4.

"We got the victory," said Allaire. "That's all that matters at the end of the day."

Colorado now sports a record of 39-24.
