The Hialeah Gales scored a convincing win at George M. Steinbrenner Field, defeating the Key Largo Fighting Shrimp, 14-2. One of the hitting stars was 21-year old catcher Willy Baca who went 3-5 with 2 home runs, while scoring 3 times and driving in 6. Key Largo has now lost 7 consecutive games.

With Hialeah leading 4-0 in the top of the third, Baca came up to bat against Key Largo pitcher Skip Malone. Baca hit a fastball to center for a grand slam home run. His 2nd home run of the season put the Gales on top, 8-0.
