The Hialeah Gales defeated the Key Largo Fighting Shrimp, 9-7. Third Baseman Martin Diaz deserved a large share of the credit. Diaz was 3-4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Gales. The win puts the Gales at 35-29, while the Fighting Shrimp drop to 27-37.

Tommie Gook had a key at-bat with one out in the top of the sixth for Hialeah. With the bases loaded and the Gales leading 4-3, he hit a sacrifice fly.

"It feels good to get this one," Diaz told the Hialeah Bulletin.
