4-1 Gauchos Win over Catch Evens Season Record
|
The Glendale Gauchos topped the Oviedo Catch, 4-1, in Arizona Rookie League action at Ballpark of Oviedo. The game was highlighted by the performance of Glendale pitcher Rhino Robinson. Robinson went 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 1, and struck out 5. His record improves to 8-2. Orion Salonia was credited with the save for Glendale, his 2nd of the season.
Kenny Mathis, the 17-year old center fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Mathis contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put Glendale up, 3-1.
"In baseball, you have your ups and downs," said Oviedo manager Carlos Renteria. "You just try to stay level-headed the whole time."
With the win, Glendale upped its record to 33-33.
