Dolphins Edge Quahogs, 1-0
|
Conditions were not ideal but West Palm Beach and Buckeye were able to put their game in the books.
West Palm Beach Dolphins starter Kirk Long pitched his team past the Buckeye Quahogs, 1-0. Dennis Lewis got credit for the save for West Palm Beach. It was his 2nd of the year.
The Dolphins got a big at-bat from designated hitter Steve French. For the game, French went 1 for 3 with a home run. In the bottom of the second, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 5th home run of the season gave West Palm Beach a 1-0 lead.
"It'd be nice to win by four or five runs," French said, "instead of holding our breath the whole game."
The win puts the Dolphins at 43-23, while the Quahogs drop to 21-45.
