Down to Defeat Goes Pompano Beach, 4-2
|
The Pompano Beach Aqua Sox and Hialeah Gales delighted fans at Space Coast Stadium.
The Hialeah Gales topped the Pompano Beach Aqua Sox, 4-2, in Florida Rookie League action at Space Coast Stadium. The standout performance belonged to Hialeah pitcher and New York, native G.J. White. White got the win, improving to 2-5. He gave up 5 hits and walked 1 over 5 innings. He allowed no runs. Emrick Caron finished the game for Hialeah and earned his 17th save.
The game was on the line with two out in the top of the eighth inning, but Harley Radcliff didn't flinch. With runners on 1st and 3rd and Pompano Beach trailing 4-2, Radcliff retired Nerd Parker to end the threat. "Nothing to it," said Radcliff, with a wink.
The win for the Gales lifted their record to 31-29.
