The Clearwater Threshers picked up a win at Pirate City Complex, knocking off the Pembroke Pines Herons, 2-1. Starting pitcher Rimon Miller played a key role in the triumph. Miller, now 1-1, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 1 hit, while striking out 8, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. Ángel Samora, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 15th save.

Clearwater took control in the bottom of the sixth. With two out and runners on 1st and 3rd, Vasco Ramirez hit a run-scoring single to make it 2-1, Threshers.

"There was no wiggle room in this one," said Ramirez.

The Threshers are now 25-33, while the Herons fall to 32-26.
